So Sunday was our ward's Primary Program. Christiana had a little talk and Hunter had a scripture than Christiana and I sang "A Child's Prayer" Okay, so Christiana sang and I more or less blubbered through it.
Christiana's talk that she wrote: I was feeling nervous and scared for my first day of 2nd grade because I thought I wasn't going to make any new friends and I didn't know some of my first grade friends would be in my class. Then my Mom and Dad came in my room and asked if I wanted a Father's Blessing and I said yes. After my blessing I felt happy. I felt the Spirit, I wasn't scared to go to 2nd grade anymore. The Melchizedek Priesthood helped me feel that my Heavenly Father loves me.
Hunter's scripture: And verily I say unto you, let this house be built unto my name, that I may reveal mine ordinances therein unto my people. D&C 124:40
Hunter read his part, he is QUITE the little reader. And Christiana gave her talk wonderfully! I have never had the Spirit so strong at a Primary Program. I was up on the stand crying, which would have been fine, except that I had to sing a duet with Christiana. I have always like the song "A Child's Prayer" it has such wonderful words. But have you ever thought of the words as you sing it with your OWN child. It's a killer. The Sunday before when we were practicing the program I was so emotional I couldn't even sing. Amazingly, at the program, even though I was crying before we started singing, I was at least able to get the words out....somewhat in key. I consider it a success.

I might be just a little predjudiced but the program was fantastic. Grandpa was in the foyer with Jonathan and only heard Christiana but those in the Chapel heard a little from Carrie also. The spirit carried them both through. Andy's Grandma Stanley (not a member of the Church) loved the program and was really impressed with all the kids and hopes to be able to attend many more such programs.
What a fantastic program. The Spirit was truly there. Andy's Grandma Stanley (not a member of the Church) was really impressed with the job all the kids did especially those with Matheny for a last name. Jonathan wanted to go up and sing too. Grandpa had to keep him corraled. :0)
