Well, I'm sure many of you are laughing at the title of this post. I am well aware that my kids are for the most part are very well behaved, and any chance I forget I know several of you are there to remind me how good I have it. However, Jonathan seems to cause me more frustration than the others. We have gone through the hitting phase, for the most part *quick knock on wood*, and are now entering the biting phase (never dealt with this one before.)
However, this week he has changed into his alter-ego: Jonathan the Destructor!! Earlier this week, Jonathan decided he needed more Life cereal in his bowl of nasty soggy Life cereal. As Mom was in the shower, he decided he could get himself some. As I am getting dressed he comes in, "Mom, need paper towel." I go chasing after him and discover an overflowing bowl of Life Cereal and milk EVERYWHERE. Due to lack of sleep from a fussy Jade, it was more than I could take. I put a paper towel on the milk to keep it from going under the fridge grabbed Jonathan and went downstairs. I did get it cleaned up by lunch time though. Then two days ago, I had the children's Motrin out (to help Jade, and Mom, sleep) in my room with the door closed (Jade is crawling and I am trying to keep her contained). I don't remember at this point what I was doing, but I was not in my room. Soon Jonathan comes to me, "Mom, paper towel". I go after him trying to find the mess. I look in the kitchen, nope no mess, I go to his room, nope no mess. Confused I asked Jonathan where's the spill he points to my room. I look, he has closed the door, I open it expecting to see my water bottle spilled all over the floor or on my bed. Nope, there it is sitting upright on my bedside table. Now I'm really confused, where is the mess. When I turn to ask him again, I see it. The medicine bottle overturned dripping sticky orange liquid down my dresser and onto my wood floor. *sigh*
Then today.....Just wait for it. I gave him lunch because he was BEGGING for it earlier than Hunter. Normally when he is done he comes and gets me for more or to wash hands and face. We have been gone all morning so I'm on the computer checking email, Facebook, etc. and lost track of time. Hunter comes in, "Mom is Jonathan in bed so I can play video games?" (Jonathan likes to hit Hunter on the head with the controller so now it is only safe to play when Jonathan is asleep, and yes it is kinda funny) It dawns on me just how long it has been since I gave him his lunch (like 20 min.) After this week, I am scared to see what he has done. I go upstairs, it is really quiet. I look in the kitchen...No Jonathan, I look in the living room....No Jonathan. I'm thinking he must be in my room so I head down the hall. I glance over to the boys bedroom, and there he is fast asleep on his bed.
As my FAVORITE kid quote says, "They hardly look evil when they're sleeping."

He looks too cute to ever be angry for too long.
It's true. I think that is why God made them so cute, so they would survive baby/toddlerhood. *grin*
I love that quote! So perfect.
