Okay, so today was Jonathan's Echo and appointment with the Pediatric Heart Specialist. Oh, was there DRAMA yesterday getting here. This was his second appointment to do this, as on his first time the doc called in sick. So then Tuesday I get a message that they needed to reschedule Jonathan's Echo because they hadn't scheduled it for a sedation, (news to me that he was going to be sedated) and to call back on Wed. when they reopened. So frustrated that we have to try and reschedule AGAIN I try calling back Wed morning. I call at 8 am and get a message we are open 8 to 4 if you need ... blah blah blah. Thinking, oh their clocks must not say 8 yet I wait. I called and called (and left a message) until 10:30 am. At this point I'm EXTREMELY frustrated. So I call my doctor and left a message to see if he can help the situation, thank goodness I did. He calls and me and I explain what has happened and my doc says that he will call the childrens' hospital. So then I get a call from my doc saying they still have the appointment on the books, at the same time I get a call from the hospital.
So to make a long story short (I know too late, but there is more drama that I'm skipping) the hospital has recently changed its policy about sedation. They used to always sedate anyone under the age of 3 for (at least) Echos but now they only do it if they can't get a good one. However the two offices aren't communicating that very well, so the one office was trying to reschedule to have sedation and the other office was still planning on him coming. So everything was still on for today (had to find a babysitter again as MIL was going to babysit but I had said it was cancelled so she had made other plans, then as I was sending Christiana off for the bus today I realized that I wasn't going to be home when she got home and had to figure out something for her. I love the church and visiting teachers!!!) However, after all this I had to not feed Jonathan for 6 hours before the appointment and then only clear liquids for the next 4 hours and nothing at all within 2 hours of the appointment, just in case. HELLO that is BOTH BREAKFASTand LUNCH (appt. was at 1 pm). I was really worried, but he woke up in time to eat (as in before 7 am....yuck!) and Jello did the trick after that (though we did miss all of naptime so bedtime was at 5pm Whoo Hoo).
So that was all the drama, now to what we've all been waiting for.......Jonathan is FINE!!!!!!! He does have a heart murmur, but it is not caused by a hole in the heart like it was when he was first born, it is just a "typical" childhood murmur and should go away with time. And as for the enlarged heart, it doesn't exist. The doc says his heart is just the size it should be. So as for what happened, I'm guessing it was a bad development or Jonathan moved at just the wrong time or something. In any case, it was a bad X-ray.
So all is good in the world again, my children are all healthy!!!

I'm so glad he's okay! Just sorry about all the stress leading up to the good news.
It's terrifying when you think one of your kids might have serious health issues. We went through that with our second one and boy did it put us through the ringer.
What great news! We are getting excited to come and see you. We fly in on the 14th of August and leave on the 22nd!
