Happy Birthday Grandpa!!!

So my grandpa turns the big 90 this year. So to celebrate his kids (my mom & her sisters) decided to get everyone together to celebrate. This is no little job. This means finding a time when 3 children and 2 spouses; 11 grandchildren plus spouses were applicable; and 25 great grandchildren don't have something going on... in the middle of summer (as doing at his birthday was impossible). Amazingly last weekend was that time, a few schedules had to be tweeked and some people left right after the pictures but we did it.

We didn't do presents, but we wrote down some of our memories of Grandpa and my mom collected them and put them in a book.

We had cake and ice cream because hey it is a birthday party. The question is how many people does it take to light 90 candles before the first ones burn down to nothing?

The amazing thing is that my 90 year old Grandpa took one breath and blew them all out!

It was great to see everyone. I have not seen my cousins or my aunts for many years. I was talking to my cousin and I realized the last time I saw her was before she was engaged or when she was just newly engaged and she just had her 2nd child. It was also wonderful to see my siblings and families again. I was able to meet my newest neice, Caitlin (I think I spelled that right Heather please correct me if I'm wrong), and say good-bye to my brother Kevin and his family as they head off to China for the next couple of years. The only down side to the whole event, was that it was so short. We left here for Boise Friday late afternoon and we were home Sunday evening. By letting kids sleep in on Monday and skipping naps we were able to get everyone back on schedule for today. More pictures are in the next post as for some reason I couldn't get the slide show to work with this post.
