On Saturday, our oldest child was baptized a member of he Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. What an amazing day it was. There were lots of people there to support her and show their love for her. Nancy gave the opening prayer and Dan gave the talk on baptism. Andy had the privilege of baptizing her, and apparently, the water was hot. The baptism went smoothly, as Andy made sure she was all the way under (good thing that's not a problem anymore). After her baptism Andy gave a talk on the Holy Ghost and she was confirmed with all the family that was there standing in the circle. Christiana and two of her friends then sang the song "When I am Baptized". That's the song that starts "I like to look at rainbows whenever there is rain" for those who know the song. It was very sweet, one of her friends was baptized last year, then Christiana who was just baptized, and her other friend who will be baptized later this year. The Bishop (with a little help from Jonathan) then talked to everyone and then my cousin Eileen gave the closing prayer. It was a nice program. Christiana was the only one baptized that day (there was suppose to be another but due to car trouble it was postponed). Which I'm thankful for as my kids were a handful. The baptism was at 2:30. This was right during Jade's nap and we had to wake Jonathan up early from his to get there early enough to get everything ready. As a result, during the program it was a little crazy. Christiana wanted to sit on Andy's lap, Hunter (who had been breaking down into tears all day) also HAD to sit on Andy's lap. Jade was fussy as it was naptime and would only let me hold her, which left Jonathan to run around. He did pretty good for the baptism but then for the talks and such afterwards it was too much. Julie our WONDERFUL babysitter tried to take him out, but that didn't work (though he was out for the confirmation which was a nice thing). So when it was the Bishop's turn to talk, Jonathan had had enough. He had seen Grandpa and then Dad get up and talk, so he figured it was his turn. He did try to be polite at first and asked the Bishop to stop, when that didn't work he tried pushing him, and when that didn't work he just started talking anyway. Now you know why I was glad the other baptism was postponed so it was only our friends and family that was there. Here are some pictures of Christiana and the luncheon that followed. (warning: due to my parents not being able to be there, there are lots of pictures)

This was before the baptism, but this is basically how Andy sat through the service.
