Hair

I know you guys are probably waiting for pics of my cake and info about my piano recital, and they are coming, but I had to write about this.

I think Jade has gotten a little bit of Andy's wavy hair.  When I dry it with a towel after her baths it curls so nicely on the top of her head and when it was a little shorter it curled under so nicely it looked like I took a curling iron to is.  However, her hair is long enough on top that as it dries the curls disappear (which is why I fully haven't decided that she's gotten Andy's wave).  So this afternoon as I was drying her hair after her bath I wondered what would happen if I did curl it.  Now obviously I'm not going to take a curling iron to a 16 month old, especially when all I have is a big barrel one.  But I do have some small sponge rollers (you know the pink ones our moms used to put in our hair and then make us sleep in them).  So she sat nicely while I put the curlers in her hair.  Of course, I knew they wouldn't be dry in time for church (we had to leave in 15 min) so I had Andy grab my blow dryer.  Now if this had been Christiana I never could have blown her hair, heck I couldn't have gotten her to sit still to let me put the curlers in.  She never did like it when I tried to do her hair, even to this day she likes it just hanging down.  So I have LOVED Jade letting me but barrettes in her hair and the other day she let me put it in ponytails!!  Anyway, I turned on the blow dryer on low and just ran it up Jade's arm to her hair.  She had no problem with it!  I would hold it on each curler to the count of three and then move to the next one and Jade just continued to sit on the counter.  She would stick her hand up and have me blow on it then I could go back to her hair.  It was so much fun, and had we not been running late so Andy was getting the other kids going I would have made him get the camera so I could have pictures.  I think I've got myself a girlie girl!  I left the curlers in all the way to church.  But unfortunately, her hair was still a little damp when we got to church so it didn't look too good.  However, she let me do it, so it shall happen again!  And this time I'll get pictures.
