Cake Class #4

Well, it's almost midnight, but my day tomorrow is SOOO busy I knew I wouldn't have time to post about the cake I made tonight. So, I'm doing it now.

This cake class was making the "famous" Barbie cake. This was another easy/hard class. However, once I got the frosting so it wasn't as soft and figured out how to comfortably make the ruffles it went better. Unfortunately it was 8:30 by the time that happened. Thankfully, I wasn't' the only one that kept our teacher there late, as we are suppose to be done by 9.

So with no more adieu, here is my cake:

I know it's hard to tell, but that is purple, a blue purple, but it is purple Effie.

I realized as I was putting these pictures up I forgot to give her earrings, so just pretend she has pearls on. I was going to put them on, but didn't want them to get messed up when I put her hair down and put the hat on. Oh, well.

In case you are wondering why tomorrow is so busy (and we all know you are) I am going Costco shopping (whoo hoo), and at least some of the regular shopping, then teaching piano, and then Christiana has her 2nd grade program tomorrow. Some where in there I have to fit naps....

Carrie, It looks great! I've done one of these before and they can be quite a challenge. The hardest part for me was the bodice of the dress. I made miniture ones and they of course had to be modest they turned out cute though. I'd love to take a cake decorating class. It looks fabulous, Carrie.

Carrie, you are AMAZING!!! I am so impressed, it makes me want to take a cake decorating class myself! What I'm really wondering is who gets to eat these incredible cakes when you come home with them? I want to just reach through the computer screen and grab it and take a big bite out. Yum!!

The cakes you have been doing are absolutely beautiful. Can hardly wait to see all the December birthcakes this year. Want to do Dan's?
