We had Spring Break the last full week of March. One of the benefits of having your husband be a teacher is that he gets these breaks off too. So I was very excited to have him home for the week and put him to work!!! No reason to have him slacking off. We "hired" one of our friend's teenage sons to help Andy, and they got a LOT done.
When we moved into our house, this is what our backyard looked like:
not too bad right? this is the "good" side
I think there is a yard in there....(unfortunately the play house left with the family, this pic was taken when we were looking at the house.)Now it looks like this:

Do you see how big that stump is and the rounds that came off the tree we cut down last summer!! The stump is mostly out of this picture, that is one of the rounds you see from the trunk. We actually have a large back yard. As you can see from the pile of branches in the bottom corner there is still a lot of clean up left to do. And we still have a two story rhododendron to cut down. But for the most part, the de-brushing is done. Now we need to get rid of our moss (which would be about 95% of the green that you see), level the yard a bit, plant grass, build a retaining wall for the finished garden (we are planting a garden back by the fence until the spot for the garden is ready), plant fruit trees.... As you can see we have big plans for our backyard.
Andy also worked in the basement on the rainy days of Spring Break. They cleaned up all the NASTY cobwebs and sheet rocked with some leftover sheet rock, so that I don't have to see the new cobwebs (at least in that part of the basement). Then moved these shelves.
these shelves came with the house, we just moved them to a different part of the basementAnd built these shelves.
These aren't quite done, they still need row dividers and a couple shelves need fronts and backs so the cans don't roll out, but they are put together!!
